Frederick De Palm

He was a husband. He was a father to 10. He was a grandfather to 22. He was a great grandfather to 7.
Uncle to many nieces and nephews, In-law, and godfather.
He was a friend to countless.
He was a Freemason, a Construction Foundation engineer, Entrepreneur and business owner.
He was a longtime colleague and friend to many Fania All Stars and media professionals.
He had a wicked sense of humor and was a great storyteller. Especially stories from his escapades in the entertainment industry.
He loved a well-prepared savory Meal from the finest restaurants to the coziest pubs and cafes, but mostly cooked by his daughters.

He loved traveling to the Caribbean with his devoted wife of the last 38 years Soraya DePalm. His most recent trip to his land of ancestry, Curacao, was Epic. He longed to return and live out his days in this tropical paradise. It was not to be. Having contracted covid numerous times, his body was not strong enough to recover.

He was Intelligent, well studied, and had a deep understanding of numerous religions followings. He was always there to help anyone that needed a hand. He always saw the “upside” of any situation. Handsome, mighty, loud, funny, kind, tender and a protector of his loved ones. Was he perfect? No, but he was genuinely unique and memorable. He would bring such energy when he entered any room. People flocked to him. Always welcoming and inclusive.

Through toughness he had a very tender side. Always a special word that wrapped you up like one of his hugs: "schweethart", "mami", "compai", "pal", "buddy", "son" and some that will remain only in our memories. Lol!
He was known to many as; Da Don, Big Fred, Compaì, Pops, Sham'pa, Gran'pa, Dad and Daddy.
His passing leaves a hole in our universe. Christmas eve will never be the same.
May he rest in paradise.
