Harold Dean Havens
June 27th, 1929 - November 1st, 2019
Harold Dean Havens was born on June 27th, 1929, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Harold J. Havens and Lillian Havens. Harold's family lived on various oil leases in Texas and Oklahoma while his father worked in the oil fields. The Havens family lived in Orange Texas during World War II and moved with other relatives to Whittier California after the war. Harold graduated from Whittier High School, worked as an auto mechanic and served in the Army from 1952 to 1954. He owned and operated an auto repair business for 26 years. Harold married Mary Broussard Havens in 1950 and they were together until her passing in 2017. As a dedicated Christian, Harold attended and supported College Avenue Church of the Nazarene by serving on the Church Board, coaching a junior high basketball team, singing in the choir, running a helping hand ministry and traveling with work and witness teams to Mexico and Peru. In his spare time, Harold enjoyed camping with his family and friends, fishing and RV travel. Harold passed away on November 1, 2019 and is survived by his sons: Michael Dean Havens and Mark Randal Havens, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
