Rosemary Di Salvo

January 25th, 1923 - March 31st, 2018

​Rosemary Di Salvo passed away peacefully in her sleep at age 95.  She was the daughter of Adolph Schutz and Augusta (Glicker) Schutz as well as the sister to John A. Schutz.  Rosemary was born in Los Angeles and spent her early years in Bakersfield, graduating from Bakersfield High School and afterward moving with her parents to Los Angeles where she earned her AA degree from Los Angeles Community College. During these early years she had a love for tennis, participated in wartime USO activities and met her future husband, George Di Salvo, while working at the Bradbury Building in Los Angeles. They married in 1951.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her four children. She continued to remain busy working as a legal secretary and later for the Alhambra School district. During her life in Monterey Park she and her husband, George, were active members of the newly founded St. Thomas Aquinas church.

She is survived by her children Joseph Di Salvo, John Di Salvo, George Di Salvo and Cathy (Di Salvo) Padgett along with her grandchildren Michael, Savannah, Chelsea, Brian, Brett, Raymond, Isaak and great grandchildren Madeleine, Sienna, Anthony and Dominic.   

A Rosary will be held 7 pm on Wednesday April 11 at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Monterey Park.  Funeral Mass will be held 10 am Thursday April 12 at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Monterey Park.  Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Montebello.
